The sun had just risen on a recent Friday, when Ruth Collins and 25 other moms started arriving to spend an hour sorting food in a Mesa warehouse. Their goal: stuff hundreds of backpacks with food so disadvantaged children in Mesa schools can have something to eat over the weekend. Over the last year, their work has grown from two women with a calling to a full-fledged movement with two dozen moms. Read more:
